Great blog. I was looking at your viral micrographs. If you take a filamentous particle and section it in cross section you will see a sphere. Has anyone measured the sphere in cross section? I did some work with Dr. Fred Prince at NY Blood Center a long time ago. We had inclusions in cells infected with Hepatitis that would appear as parallel rods in one plane but round in another. If you think of a test tube sectioned in two different planes you can visualize what we were looking at.
